This blog is a random and eventually regular posting about the effects of consumer behavior and mega-retailer proliferation’s effects on local economies in general, as well as an outlet for support of local businesses in the Greater Columbia, SC area, including Irmo, Lexington, Cayce-West Columbia, Blythewood, Forest Acres, Springdale, and all of the individual communities and associations that create the tapestry of our area.
Local business owners will also be spotlighted and featured here in our efforts to support our membership by educating consumers about what they do and what they have to offer. We want the local consumer to get to know their community businesses and their owners, and to understand the important role they play in their support of local businesses as it relates to the economic health of our community.
